Job Summary

As one of Unitech’s Senior Project Managers you will hold a primary position within the company and be responsible for ALL aspects of your construction projects with little need for directors’ involvement. Your resourcefulness, intelligence, confidence, and dedication will help ensure our construction projects are delivered in accordance with our client’s goals and priorities. You will be committed to building mutually respectful relationships based on trust through clarity and integrity of our systems, procedures, and project reporting. You will be a mentor and trainer to our junior project managers and project managers assisting with their growth and career development into their own seasoned Project Manager’s role with Unitech. This role’s critical expectations and daily responsibilities will include but not limited to:
 
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage & hold assigned Project Managers accountable to follow all Proven Process activities.
  • Support your assigned Project Managers in providing consistent service delivery through project team collaboration.
  • Provide your assigned Project Managers advice and guidance for value added aspects of their pre-construction stages including estimating, scheduling, risk mitigation, design and detail optimization and clear and concise tender packaging.
  • Provide your assigned Project Managers advice and guidance for value added aspects of their construction stages including RFI’s, CCN’s SI’s, Shop Drawings, Budgeting, Scheduling, and Reporting.
  • Complete a Detailed monthly review of analysis sheet and report prior to the presentation to the owner.
  • Provide your assigned Project Managers with constant training and reinforcement of the Unitech way.
  • Complete project accountability and coordination for your projects.
  • Ensure we provide all the services we sell for your projects.
  • Ensure a consistent delivery service for your projects.
  • Project main point of contact for your projects.
  • Timely, complete, and accurate reporting for your projects.
  • Expedite Everything for your projects in Coordination with the Site Superintendent
  • Coordinate, participate and lead the 5 / 5 / 5’s and Quarterly Conversations of your assigned Project Managers.
  • Schedule, conduct, and document (as necessary) weekly or bi-weekly check-ins with all direct reports per the documented Unitech standard process.
  • Participate in Project Manager interviews, hiring, and implementation of onboarding and training programs.
  • Coordinate and approve external training resources for assigned Project Managers, as required.
  • Support Directors of Project Management in ensure follow through on Rocks, 1-, 5- and 10-year goals of your assigned Project Managers.
  • Participate in Project Management Level 10 meetings.
 
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years Project Management experience in a similar construction position.
  • Minimum 2 years People Management experience in a similar construction position.
  • Good working knowledge of current construction methods, materials, procedures, drawings, specifications and building codes.
  • Budgeting and estimating skills including computer word processing and spreadsheet skills.
  • Self-motivated, creative thinking, organized, and efficient.
  • Exemplary English skills, both verbal and written, with strong analytical, mathematical and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership and team building skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently with a service-oriented attitude, courtesy, tact, and diplomacy under stressful situations with constant interruption.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of employment and other designated information.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, responsibilities, and priorities.
  • Project Management Gold Seal certification a significant asset
  • Project Management Professional certification is a significant asset.
  • AScT designation a significant asset.
